The project on the pillow is a dynamic installation that discusses the association between voluntary sexual bondage and selective socialization in a long-term intimate relationship. Taking oneself as the starting point, thinking that people need to invest a lot of capital (energy and time) in running a long-term love relationship, but this spontaneous behavior will inevitably reduce their connection with the society, and the bond between lovers is becoming more and more solid, thus forming a two-way bondage relationship, but this "bondage" is beneficial in a certain level. Under the great influence of social structure and technology, we have to contact with a large number of new things and people every day, and this fast-paced social model, not everyone can be from, but familiar, stable and intimate relationship is a safe area that can make people completely relaxed. But it is worth discussing, what is the scale of this constraint, how to balance the feelings of both sides? If you immerse in the comfort zone for a long time, will there be some negative effects, such as the breakdown of intimate relationships, and how to face it?






In the installation, Polaroid photo transfer technology, paint, glue and lights are mixed to make two translucent photo cubes. The photos themselves are taken by my girlfriend and me in our respective apartments. The objects and scenes in the photos are relatively private Spaces, and most of the time they are only exposed to each other. Outside the two translucent photo cubes, there is a large rectangular box with a frosted transparent surface, which is placed on a pillow. Only the side facing each other is completely transparent and can be opened, while the other four sides can only vaguely see the rotating cube. It is like knowing someone very well in an intimate relationship, including his unknown secrets. It has the characteristic of having a privileged in-depth knowledge of the other party after establishing trust with the other party.
